BioI've finally decided to take the plunge and create a lj page. I am a little of wary of posting a lot of personal info here, so I'm going to keep it pretty generic.
Chances are I am older than you by quite a bit. I have one husband, one child, and numerous pets.
I am overeducated, with a terminal degree that I really am not using much.
I get bored very easily. I am currently studying Japanese, with the intention of visiting that amazing country in two years time. I have always found that I need a fire lit under me to produce results. The exception to this is writing, but I think that is because I am doing it in very manageable chunks-- only a chapter at a time.
I started writing about two years ago, and I am beginning to wonder whether I missed my calling. I am an unfortunate product of an educational system that valued test scores and getting into a good college over creativity and critical thinking. The first creative thing I ever wrote was my first fan fic, in Fall of 2006. It's sad that the educational system (at least the one where I live) has not changed in the many years since I attended school. A lot of talent is being wasted, and a lot of minds are being bored to tears.
Right now my writing is focusing on Naruto fan fics-- in particular the Kakashi/Sakura pairing. However, my all time favorite anime are by Hayao Miyazaki. His work is just sublime. I have written one fic for Howl's Moving Castle, and have another in process, although it is currently taking a back burner to my Naruto obsession.
